Invitation Cultural Economics symposium

Dear colleague, master student and bachelor student ACW,

The think tank Cultural Economy invites you to the symposium "The Role of Cultural Economists in Academia and the Cultural field" on the 24th of May in the Rotterdamse Schouwburg in Rotterdam.

In a time in which the cultural sector is changing rapidly, we start an international conversation about the role of the Cultural Economist in both the field and academia. We invite our colleagues to join this debate!

For both bachelor students ACW and (pre-)master students Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship, this is symposium offers an unique opportunity to hear stories from both national and international cultural economists, engage in a discussion about your (future) contributions to the field and extend your professional network.

We will kick-off the symposium with an presentation by Dany Jacobs, professor at the University of Amsterdam and ArtEZ Arnhem, on success criteria of creative entrepreneurship.
We will continue with three presentations of cultural economists from the Netherlands, Belgium and France about their work as cultural economists, followed by an interactive discussion with both senior cultural economists, junior cultural economists and students.

We will conclude this afternoon with an interactive performance by artist Dette Glashouwer.
