ERMeCC Membership
Full membership
Full membership is applicable to faculty members with a research appointment at the ESHCC Departments of Media & Communication or Arts & Culture Studies. A full member has obtained a Ph.D. and has a solid* publication track record. Full membership of ERMeCC is exclusive, i.e. cannot be combined with full membership of other research centres at Erasmus.
Associate membership
This applies to researchers with a research appointment at the ESHCC, Departments of Media & Communication or Arts & Culture Studies, who have finished their Ph.D. less than three years ago, or who did not have an academic research appointment for the last three calendar years, or who have been evaluated as not having met the ERMeCC publication criteria in previous years, and are in the process of carrying out a strategic publication plan. Associate membership can last for a maximum of four calendar years, including the year in which the research appointment started. Associate membership of ERMeCC is exclusive.
Ph.D. students
Ph.D. membership is applicable to Ph.D. students registered at the ESHCC. Ph.D. membership cannot extend a period of six years in total. This also applies to part-time Ph.D. students.
Affiliate membership
This membership category applies to researchers with a Ph.D. that have a considerable contribution to ERMeCC research. Affiliate membership may also arise from a longstanding collaboration with ERMeCC researchers or research groups or can be awarded after retirement.
ERMeCC International Fellow
This honorary membership category applies to internationally renowned scholars from foreign universities. ERMeCC International fellows carry out research that has a major contribution to ERMeCC research. ERMeCC International fellows cooperate actively with ERMeCC members. ERMeCC International Fellowships are granted for a five-year period.
