Biographical Note

Jeanine Evers (1959) was born in the South of Holland, but spent most of her youth in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles.  After working in different sectors (1976-1984), she decided to pursue an academic degree. She studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of Leiden (1990) and Public Administration at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam (2001). Fields of specific interest are qualitative research methods, politics and policy.  Besides doing research in different areas from 1990 onwards in The Netherlands and Curacao, she has taught qualitative research methods from 2001 onwards at different universities (Free University Amsterdam, University of the West Indies Jamaica, University for Humanistics Utrecht).  She has been an active member of KWALON, the Dutch Platform for Qualitative Research since 1995, and started a training division within the platform in 2004. These workshops, locally know as ‘de KWALON cursussen’ have been quite successful and are taught throughout The Netherlands by several trainers from academia.  As of May 2011, the training division has become part of Evers Research & Training, the consultancy company she heads from 2008 onwards.
