Aleid Fokkema PhD
Aleid Fokkema (MA, PhD), who was born Dutch but spent part of her life abroad, receiving English tuition. She took an MA in English Literature at the University of Leicester (UK) and received her PhD from Utrecht University, where she subsequently had a career as lecturer, then senior lecturer. Over the years, she developed expert skills in bringing out publications in both English and Dutch and assisted in supervising and evaluating national and international research projects. In 2005, however, she decided to change tack: back to the source, working with texts. Lighthouse Texts was founded that September and became an instant success.
In close cooperation with IBCoM faculty, Aleid Fokkema has developed the Information and Communication Skills Workshop for the IBCoM programme and she serves as one of the lecturers on this course.
