Jacob Groshek has recently been appointed as an assistant professor in the Media and Communication Department at Erasmus University Rotterdam. There, he teaches courses in Political Communication, Quantitative Research Methods, and Communication Technologies. His research interests can therefore be found at the intersection of democracy, communication, and new media content with a special emphasis on time-series and panel data research techniques. In the past several years, Jacob has published in the International Journal of Communication, The International Communication Gazette, Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Social Science Computer Review, Journalism and Mass Communication Educator, Communication Education, and Media, War & Conflict. He earned a Ph.D. from Indiana University, where he wrote a dissertation on new media technologies and political change at the macro and micro levels under the supervision of Dr. David Weaver. Over the course of his career, Jacob has experience as a professional writer, editor and graphic designer across media platforms, most notably at an independent publishing house in Denver, Colorado.
