Biographical Note | |
Christian Handke is Assistant Professor of Cultural Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He lectures in the BA programme Cultural Studies and the MA Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship. His research focuses on cultural economics and the economics of copyright, innovation and technological change, as well as the record industry. In 2010, Christian received his doctorate in economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam (with distinction). His dissertation is short-listed for the Boekman Dissertation Prize 2012. He also holds an M.A. with distinction in 'Science, Technology and Society' from Linköping University (Sweden) and a B.A. (Hons) in European Studies from the University of North London. Between 2003 and 2007, Christian was junior lecturer/researcher at Humboldt University Berlin, Centre for British Studies, where he participated in the research project on Commerce and Culture. Christian has consulted for a variety of public and private organisations, including the National Academies of the Siences (USA), Industry Canada, the UK Intellectual Property Office and Fundacion Autor (Spain).
