Dr. Susan Hogervorst

 

Biographical Note

Susan Hogervorst (1982) is university teacher at the ESHCC history department and freelance researcher. December 2010 she succesfully defended her dissertation at Erasmus University: 'Onwrikbare herinnering. Herinneringsculturen van Ravensbrueck in Europa, 1945-2010' / 'Peristent memory. Memory cultures of Ravensbrueck in Europe, 1945-2010' (Hilversum, Verloren 2010).

She has studied History at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and Genderstudies at the University of Amsterdam as well as at the Humboldt University in Berlin.
She has completed her studies in 2004 with a Master's thesis on memory politics and gender images of the Dutch community of Ravensbrück survivors. July 2005 she started her Ph.D. project under supervison of prof. dr. Maria Grever.

In 2008, Susan was awarded by Erasmus University with the dr. W.H. Posthumus - Van der Goot stipend

Main research interests are collective memory, historiography, historical culture and gender history.
