Vidhi Chaudhri PhD
Vidhi Chaudhri is Assistant Professor in the Department of Media and Communication at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She teaches both in the International Bachelor program in Communication (IBCoM) and Masters in Media and Business and supervises MA thesis students. Before joining the department in August 2012, she was Assistant Professor in Communication at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA).
Vidhi has a doctorate in organizational communication and a master in public relations and issues management, both from Purdue University, West Lafayette, USA. Her research interests and teaching span various facets of organizational communication and public relations including corporate social responsibility (CSR), globalization, crisis communication, corporate reputation, and organizational rhetoric. Using a metatheoretical lens of social constructionism, her dissertation examined the meanings and manifestations of corporate social responsibility (CSR) among organizations in India. The project was supported by a competitive grant from the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF).She published in Management Communication Quarterly, Public Relations Review, International Journal of Business Communication, The Journal of Corporate Citizenship, The Handbook of Crisis Communication, and The Sage Encyclopaedia of Corporate Reputation. She is also co-author on several CSR-related business cases written in collaboration with leading organizations such as IBM India, ArcelorMittal, ITC India, and Wipro Consulting.
A native of India, Vidhi has a bachelor in history from Delhi University and worked as a public relations consultant with 20:20MEDIA (now 2020 MSL) before moving to the US to get her Masters and Doctorate.
