Drs. Ingmar Vroomen


 

Biographical Note

Ingmar Vroomen (1978) studied Maatschappijgeschiedenis (History of Societies) at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He graduated cum laude in 2003 on his thesis Refugié in Rotterdam. De handelsactiviteiten van David Chabot (1666-1714), hugenoot en koopman (Refugié in Rotterdam. The trade activities of David Chabot (1666-1714), Huguenot and merchant). After his graduation, he worked at the Centrale Discotheek Rotterdam, Europe’s largest music library.

Since 2008 he is PhD student at the department of History and the Erasmus Center for Early Modern Studies. His research focuses on the rhetoric of patriotism in pamphlets in the seventeenth-century Dutch Republic (1618-1690).
