Programme Features
The Research Master in the Sociology of Culture, Media and the Arts is a two-year Master's of Science (MSc) Programme. It is specifically intended for intellectually talented and academically motivated students who want advanced, research-oriented education in the sociology of culture and in media studies.
The programme provides in-depth, internationally oriented, social-scientific research training, that focuses on culture, media and the arts. As such it occupies an internationally unique position. The programme is taught exclusively in English and is offered on a full-time basis only.
Instruction is given by top researchers in the participating departments and by renowned experts from abroad who are invited as guest lecturers. The highest standards are maintained through a the careful selection of top students from an international pool of applicants. With a maximum intake of 25 new students per year, the programme has an optimal teachter/student ratio and can thus be tailored to serve students' personal intellectual needs.
