The Erasmus Center For Early Modern Studies provides the organizational focus for research in Early Modern Social, Political, Cultural and Intellectual History (15th to 18th centuries), in particular in relation to the rich collections of Early Modern books and broad-sheets at the Public Library, Rotterdam. These comprise 30,000 volumes of Early Modern books and broad-sheets, among them the ca. 10,000 volumes of Erasmus’ works and of contemporary work on Erasmus at the Erasmus Collection, one of the most complete collections in the world. The Center for Historical Culture (CHC) is dedicated to research on Historical Culture in a globalizing world. Main research interests are: study of historical consciousness and collective memories, theory of historiography and representations, intellectual history and history of ideas, processes of (de-)canonization in history and culture, history education and public history.
CHC stimulates contacts with researchers on heritage, museums and commemorations, history didactics and pedagogy, history of gender, 'race' and ethnicity, world history and transnational history. Please direct inquiries to adriaansen@eshcc.eur.nl

The Erasmus Research Centre for Media, Communication and Culture (ERMeCC) provides an intellectual network for researchers, phd students students and professionals in the field of media, communication, and culture.
