Willemijn Dortant, MSc
Willemijn Dortant is a fresh Master in Sociology of Culture Media and Arts at the ESHCC. After having studied the Bachelor in Sociology at the University of Utrecht, she chose to work for a year as a research assistant in the project 'Towards Open Societies' for Professor M. van Leeuwen. Doing so, she was inspired to continue her education in the field of social science and enrich her knowledge about qualitative methods. Following her love for research (and her boyfriend), she fell in love with 'her' new hometown Rotterdam and 'the art' of practicing Cultural Sociology. After her recent graduation on the topic of refugees' (mediatized) identity formation, she is motivated to start a PhD trajectory of social (applied) relevance any time soon. As a first step in her Academic career, she is however as much excited to share her passion for social research with the new Bachelor students of the IBCom department.
